OIT Board plays an active role in allocation of CSR funds and implements a range of CSR Projects through partner NGOs. The selection of CSR activities are done keeping the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and at present it covers 7 SDGs.

CSR program focusing on Livelihood Skill training for rural households augment their household income and provide economic protection. The smooth operation of important stretches of the National Highways network contributes to the local economy and poverty eradication.

Skill Education is one of our key CSR offerings to our target beneficiaries. Through our CSR, we provide support to enhance existing skills and acquire new skills that help in improving the chances of employability. At present, our NGO partner runs 3 skill training centers where a total of 410 youths are enrolled.

We provide clean water and sanitation facilities to road users. We also conserve water and recharge ground water through rain water harvesting structures where possible.

OIT pays the minimum wage to its direct employees and monitors its contractors to pay minimum wage. It ensures that its employees and workers are not harmed during their work hours and enjoys a range of employee welfare and benefits.

We reuse the scrap waste generated from our operations for constructing the yards and thereby reduce use of virgin materials

Trees are a natural carbon sink and contribute immensely to the biodiversity. Increasing the green cover is an effective solution to safeguard our clean environment. Aligning with our commitment to reduce our carbon emissions we contributed through tree plantation activity.

A stretch of ONBCPL passes through buffer zone of Pench Tiger Reserve. In order to provide safe passage to wild animals, four minor bridges (MNBs) and five animal underpasses (AUPs) were constructed. These structures are located along a 16.1 km section of the highway that cuts across the tiger reserve and adjoining forests in 3 forest segments.

OIT at present is supporting 3 Livelihood Skills Training Centres located at Etawah, Kanpur, and Auraiya (run by the NGO Saksham Bharti).  These training centres offer skill trainings on 1. Basic and advanced computer training, 2. Computer hardware repair and basic networking, 3. Cutting, tailoring and dress making, and 4. Certified beauty culture course.  These centers provide requisite infrastructure, equipment and qualified trainers. There are 410 youths enrolled in these training centers, and their center-wise break-up is provided in charts below.
